Concept, choreography & performance
We attempt to scrape off our histories, shake or peel them off. Circling, you apply scents and cremes to add yet another layer to what separates you from the world. I have all of my wrinkles smoothed out, hair shaved, irregularities and resistances removed, until I am as sleek as plexiglas, a lustrous surface so even that we cannot but slip past each other.
Working at the intersection of biology, performance and poetry, Glitch AG probes the phenomenon of the skin as a liminal organ. What can the epidermis – the first perceivable boundary – tell us about any of the other limitations within which we live? Am Rand der Epidermis (At the seams of the epidermis) sees biological knowledge transmuted into word and sound, scars vaunted and faces flushed crimson red, boundaries violated and new ones instated.
This performance is based on Anna Hubner's drama text of the same name, which was nominated for the Retzhofer Dramapreis in 2017.
